NEW WORLD ORDER

by Cindy Stammons

It all changed in a matter of seconds.  A furious, desperate exchange between the undefeated World Champion and her challenger, and suddenly Holly Hotbody was staring down the barrel of her own gun.  A second later, she was lying helpless on her back as FAWN suddenly caught up with her, Jeanette Lansdale doing the deed.

The last of the Big Three had fallen.

Ivy Armstrong had Kylie Sanders outflank her and steal away her beloved Television Title.  In an eerie prelude to Hotbody's fall, Sanders cemented her status as burgeoning superstar by sending the other two of the Big Three to defeat, exorcising some personal demons as she pinned her long-time tormentor LaKeisha Bates with the Nubian Goddess's own Rumpshaker.

The Big Three concept has been shot completely to hell.

Lansdale.

Sanders.

Portia Van Buren.

Anciline de Cyr.

A resurgent Shea London.

New resident sexecutioner Xia de Sade.

Ivy Armstrong, Chrissy Daniel, Holly Hotbody, LaKeisha Bates eschewing their respective waiting places in the wings for spots squarely in the middle of the melee.  And Bethany Christian perfectly able to add to the chaos whenever the mood hits her.

The new order in FAWN is anarchy.  Parity rules.  The top ten contenders are numbered not 1 through 10, but 1a through 1j.  Any woman in FAWN about two wins away from staking a claim to top contendership.

Take Lansdale, for instance.  Six weeks ago she was dismissed as cannon fodder for impressive rookie Anciline de Cyr.  She was written off for the 94th time since joining FAWN after she had her impressive three match winning streak brutally snapped by Bethany Christian, then followed up that humiliating defeat with a humiliating win over LaKeisha Bates in which the victor was vanquished and the loser left the ring triumphant.

Then Lansdale screwed everything up by doing another Houdini imitation, escaping certain defeat and stealing a win against the Frenchwoman and going on to cleanly defeat Hotbody.

If that's not enough for you, Sanders traded the cute little doormat ensemble with the "Welcome" label stamped across her chest for the mantle of Champion.  The Hawkeye's newfound success and the Krystal Erway/Anciline de Cyr combination are the only factors preventing FAWN from having come full circle.  The old guard is as relevant as ever.  The second wave of talent has been run off, and the cream of the third crop is asserting itself.

New World Champion Jeanette Lansdale made an observation recently that may sum up FAWN's new status quo.

"There are ten or so women in the upper tier of this organization, and they're like sharks in a feeding frenzy," Lansdale said.  "You get one who gets hot, and takes a nice big bite out of a few girls and she thinks she's the biggest fish in the sea.  Then, two minutes later, she gets a nice big bite taken out of her.  You're predator and prey all at the same time here.  And no one's good enough to avoid being bitten for long."

Great point, Jeanette.  Even if you looked like an appetizer as you made it.
