| Comments: | Looked at the new items,especially the blueprints of Camp Friendship. Found my barracks which we moved to from the old wooden "tents". Have not located my office yet, but will print them out and should be able to locate it. Was there from Nov 1967 to Jan 1969, than moved to Camp Samae San. Was first with the 17nd Transportation Detachment, later 258th Transportation Detachment, always attached to 9th Log. |

| Comments: | I served at samae san from '71 to ' 72 in the army. I was a sp5 and was the acting entertainment director mostly coordinating uso shows in country. I went back two years ago and so the base. it is closed to outsiders and is now used by the thai army. I also went to utapao and it is mostly overgrown with cattle grazing. the airport is still in very limited use. there were two USAF C141's on the runway on some tdy mission. it really brought back memories |

| Comments: | I worked for the G-2 USARSUPTHAI at camp Friendship in Korat Apr '70 to Jan 71 after a year with 8th PSYPO Bn in Vietnam...after VN this was a "vacation with pay." Jan '71 was pretty much the end as I recall...most of us were shipped out to all points of the globe. I went to Korea for the final three months of my military experience. Great web-site...brought back many memories. |
