What attracted me to this local church as a college student was the praise & worship music in the beginning (sometime during or after too) of the services. My first service I ever attended here was at the "old" church building (211 E. 6th St.) back in my freshmen year (Spring of 1996 after accepting Him into my personal life). It was college friend-floormate, Liz Rocket, that invited me and also Stu Farm, who was very visible on campus through the booktable he did regularly.

Discipleship during some of my College Years 97'-99'
One key ingredient to our church growth (besides making babies-j/k!) is our Biblical discipleship/mentorship teaching one by one. We meet one by one with people who attend or do not attend our regular Sunday services. Whether, they are people in the community or students, faculty, or staff in the local college campus.
MCC strongly encourages our church attendees/members to have that daily devotional in prayer or reading the Bible, constant weekly fellowship through our homegroups or some small group bible study, and attend our weekly Sunday services. However, many or all of us need that one and one relationship (besides w/ God) with someone older in faith to encourage, teach, or just spend time with to talk or listen in our growing relationship with God.

"I heard about MCC's discipleship at church one Sunday service when I was visiting. I then joined this unique-never experience mentoring somewhere my junior year at UMM. I was able to learn some key foundations after accepting Jesus into my life to help grow since then. For example, I learned the daily life application of the Spiritual gifts (1 Cor 12), Motivational Gifts (Romans 12), and Ministry (Epehsians 5) Gifts (see teachings) to help do what I do now (working at a group home in-town and mentoring others of different age groups and backgrounds)."-Salvador Monteagudo, UMM Alumn 99'
1999 Spring Break Mission Trip
I had the faith building opportunity in the Spring of 1999 (Senior Year at UMM) to go with several UMM college friends on a local mission trip. When I mean local, I mean going to a couple towns within the state of Minnesota to encourage and share the Good News to people. The first town we went to was Clearbrook (see photos). I remember this trip when I was still new to exploring rural small-town communities. When we were getting close to Clearbrook (away from "civilization"), I was asking the folks in the car if there is any Burger King? Everybody chuckled and would joke about my comment throughout the trip. After encouraging a church there that MCC was connected with through (Jim McCracken's Master Builders Fellowship), we then went to Marshall (see photos). I think we first stopped back at Morris before heading to the southwestern part of the state. In Marshall, we visited another local church MCC is connected with and did a "random acts of kindness" outreach at the local college campus-Minnesota State University Southwest State.
First Annual Summer Institute of Ministry Training School-1999
I didn't know what I was going to do after college? As I was entering my 3rd year since I came to my personal relationship with God in the Spring of my freshmen year (1996), I wanted to seek more on how I can serve God. I decided to try out the first annual Summer Institute of Ministry Training School (see more to this "adventure").
Involvement with See You at the Party from 2000 to 2006
With active youth leader-Mark Haugen-we as a church stood behind him to help with this annual youth all-night outreach event. It started in Morris with Mark's relationship with the Morris Evangelical Free Church's youth pastor-Jamie Buchanan. Then 2 years later, it moved to Alexandria where Jamie was called to.
