And I Waited For You...
Installment One - Page Three
Get your shoes on and Ill take you down to Friendlys. I said.

Really? Mackenzie asked sitting up and starting to smile.

Do I lie to you? I said smiling. And change your shirt, no way am I taking
you to Friendlys with that nasty thing on, you look like you played in a mud
puddle.

Thanks Zac, He said, getting up and running upstairs to his room.

When he came down I told our mom where we were going and got in my red Jetta. I
like to emphasize the my. I got it for my sixteenth birthday (exactly seven and
a half months ago). So no more driving in the dumb van or driving Taylor or
Issacs cars.

     Buckled? I asked.

     Yep. Mac replied.

We sat down at a table near the window and started looking at the menus. I
know what I want already. Mackenzie smiled.

Ok I laughed, that didnt take long. I have no idea what to get so you
choose something for me.And nothing coconut! You know I hate coconuts.

Mac laughed. It always makes me feel good when he laughs, I dont know why,
just does. You think you can order when Im gone? Im just going to go to the
bathroom real quick.

Sure, He replied, starting to play with the pins and the triangle toy on the
table.

K, Be right back, I said leaving.

I took the shortcut, not wanting to go around the restaurant too much, and made
it to the bathroom. On the way back I had to take a slight detour to avoid a
waitress who was in the middle of the isle. Trying to keep a focus on where our
table was in the huge dining area, I searched for Mackenzie and kept walking. I
saw a blur in front of me and before I knew it I had bumped into a girl who had
just stood up from her table to leave.

Oh, Im so sorry, I started, immediately feeling bad and getting ready for
her to get mad and tell me how stupid and clumsy I am for hitting her.

Oh no, Im sorry, I shouldnt have stood up when you were right there, I just,
I guess I didnt see you, I. Wait a minute, arent you? She asked

When I looked up at her and looked her in the eyes I immediately recognized
them. Dark blue, like a deep ocean.  Youre the girl from the studio! I said
amazed.

Yeah. I lost She said sadly.

Zac I said, sticking my hand out to shake, with a huge grin on my face Im
sure.

She shook it and smiled, Candal.

I didnt know what else to say or do. Candal, so that was her namehmm, never
heard that one before.

Well, I should probably get going, she said reluctantly when neither of us
said anything.

Are you here alone? I asked.

     Yeah.

Well, uh, my mind was racing, what should I say, invite her to sit with me
duh. Yeah, but what about Macky. Forget Macky, I can bring him here anytime but
with my luck Ill never see her again. Do you have to leave right now? I
asked.

Im supposed to pick up my little brother at his friends house around 9:30,
She said backing up.

Its only five past nine, I said, You can sit with me and my brother for a
while, until you have to leave. I suggested.

You dont mind? I mean, Id love to but, are you sure its ok with your
brother? You bringing a fan to eat with you, Im sure you guys are trying to get
away from that.

NO, I said a little too loudly. He wont mind, trust me.
