education/formation: He had, at least, the "First Letters" ["Primeiras Letras"], and knew "Reckoning" ["Contar"], because he has been Fiscal and Treasurer of the Intendency of Diamonds [Intendência dos Diamantes], of the Tejuco Village [Arraial do Tejuco], MG, Brazil.

profession/activities: He has been a contractor of public services, about 1762. He was a Clerk of the Intendency of the Diamonds [Intendência do Diamantes], and of the Royal Extraction of Diamonds [Real Extração dos Diamantes], of the Tejuco Village [Arraial do Tejuco], MG, Brazil, from 1763 till his death, in 1775. He also was a small farmer.

military service: He had the rank with Captain, most probably of the Ordenança.

honours/mercies: Among the honours that he received, he was made Knight [Cavaleiro] and professed in the Order or Christ [Ordem de Christo], and was done Nobleman of the Royal House [Fidalgo da Casa Real], as is written in a Procuration that he passed to receive the payments as Fiscal of the Diamonds [Fiscal dos Diamantes], in the Tejuco Village [Arraial do Tejuco], MG, Brazil, in 1770.

religion/brotherhoods: Certainly, he was roman apostolic catholic, altough we have not find his matriculation in any ot the laic religious confraternities of the Tejuco Village [Arraial do Tejuco], MG, Brazil, or any other, of the Prince Town [Vila do Príncipe], MG, Brazil.

slaves: In the records of the Royal Extraction of Diamonds [Real Extração dos Diamantes], of the Tejuco Village [Arraial do Tejuco], MG, Brazil, there are payments of "diaries" ["jornais"] of slaves to the "Orphans of Bento Joaquim" ["Orphãos de Bento Joaquim"], or to "The Children of Bento Joaquim" ["Os Filhos de Bento Joaquim"], at least since 1777 until 1784, making suppose that these slaves were inherited from their father.

diverse: One imagine that, having arrived to Brazil inn some point of its territory, he headed to the Minas Gerais, where one estimate that he arrived in the year of 1760. The older of his records is of 29th/Dec/1762, a Credit of a Contract of Entrance, of Serro Frio, paid by him, indicating that he would have leased this third parties service. If we admit that he had a portuguese origin, one might estimate that he would have arrived to Brazil in this same year or in one of the imediately anterior ones, that is, in the period 1760-1762. Yet in the year of 1763, he was Treasurer of the Intentency of Diamonds [Tesoureiro da Intendência dos Diamantes], in the Tejuco Village [Arraial do Tejuco], MG, Brazil, existing his records at least since 1769, being probable that he he had continued in this same office until 1771. On the 7th/Oct/1772, Bento Joaquim was the "Diamonds Fiscal" ["Fiscal dos Diamantes"], of the Intendency of the Tejuco Village [Arraial do Tejuco], MG, Brazil, staying in this office until 1773, when a new Fiscal was nominated. He only would have approximated of Ignácia Mendes Ramos, although certainly he already knew her, because they were dwelling in the same locality, one estimate that about the year of 1765, or 1766, because the firs of couple known daughter, Luiza Victória de Siqueira Henriques de Ayala, was born in the Chapel of Saint Anthony [Capela de Santo Antônio], of the Tejuco Village [Arraial do Tejuco], of the parish of Our Lady of the Conception [freguesia de N. Sra. da Conceição], of the Prince Town [Vila do Príncipe], MG, Brazil, on 19th/Set/1767, and there was baptized, on the 5th/Oct/1767. One might confirm that Bento Joaquim de Siqueira Henriques da Ayalla was very tied to the wife as also to her descendency, once tha he has been Curator of Ângelo Rodrigues Nogueira, certainly also of her minor children, as one verify in the payments to this later, in what the first received, in the year of 1774, because in the following year, due to the death of Bento Joaquim, was Proocurator the Priest Frutuoso Gomes da Costa. With Ignácia Mendes Ramos one observe the same, that is, that in the year of 1774, Bento Joaquim was her Procurator, to receive from the Royal Extractioon of Diamonds [Real Extração dos Diamantes], while in the following year, of 1775, the Procurator was the Priest Frutuoso Gomes da Costa. A good proof of the close relationship of Bento Joaquim de Siqueira Henriques da Ayalla with the family of Ignácia Mendes Ramos is the fact that he was Tutor of Ângelo Rodrigues Nogueira, that is to say, of the minor children of the second marriage of Ignácia Mendes Ramos, with a "Rodrigues Nogueira" whose first name we ignore, as show the records of the Current-Account of Ângelo Rodrigues Nogueira, with the Royal Extraction of Diamonds [Real Extração dos Diamantes], of the year of 1774, as in the year of 1775, certainly Ângelo Rodrigues Nogueira would have reached the majority, making himserlf to be represented by his procurator, the Priest Frutuoso Gomes da Costa. The proof of the direct relationship of Bento Joaquim de Siqueira Henriques da Ayalla with Ignácia Mendes Ramos herself is in the records of the Current-Account of her with the Royal Extraction of Diamonds [Real Extração dos Diamantes], where one verigy that the former was her Procurator in the year of 1774, while the Priest Frutuozo Gomes da Costa was her procurator in the year of 1775. Because he has received al the payments of the year of 1774, that is, from January till December, he only could be alive because he did it in person, as is proof his signature, in the beginning of 1775. In relation the payments of 1775, they were received by his testament executor, Estêvão Duarte Fróes, indication that he was already dead, during the year of 1775, in a date that we stil ignore. There is, so, an explanation to the absense of the signature of Bento Joaquim de Siqueira Henriques da Ayalla in the records of the Royal Extraction of Diamonds [Real Extração dos Diamantes] of the year of 1775, as one verify in his own Current-Account, confirming that if he received herself in the year of 1774, in the year of 1775 the payment was done to his testament executor, Estêvão Duarte Fróes. There is no doubt that Bento Joaquim de Siqueira Henriques da Ayalla took roots in the Tejuco Village [Arraial do Tejuco], MG, Brazil, becoming a small rural productor, since he paid the tithes of the period 1771-1774, o a small farm [fazendola], or rural site [sítio], or rural house [chácara], in this same locality, in the value of three (3) "oitavas" of gold, that was layd on 9th/Apr/1776 and paid on 21th/Jun/1777. Since the year of 1777 until the year of 1782, the records that are found are in name of the "Orphans of Bento Joaquim" ["Órfãos de Bento Joaquim"], while from this year until 1785, the records are in name of the "Children of Bento Joaquim" ["Filhos de Bento Joaquim"], indicating that they were solidarily united, maybe because the inherited assets, here including slaves, were still being inventoried, or pehaps by convenience of administering them together. It is very probable that, after the year of 1785, that is, from 1786 on, by the fact tha one or more of the daughters of Bento Joaquim de Siqueira Henriques da Ayalla, and of Ignácia Mendes Ramos had reached the majority, their slaves were rented separatedly to the Royal Extraction of Diamonds [Real Extração dos Diamantes], motif bywhich there are no more records of payment of them together. One should also observe that the Tutor of the "Orphans of Bento Joaquim" ["Órfãos de Bento Joaquim"], Estêvão Duarte Fróes, only represented them and their own father, in this case as testament executor, from 1775 until the year of 1779. From 1780 on, at least until 1784, were Procurators of the "Orphans of Bento Joaquim" ["Órfãos de Bento Joaquim"], or "Children of Bento Joaquim" ["Filhos de Bento Joaquim"], among others, the maternal half-brothers, also children of Ignácia Mendes Ramos, Ângelo Rodrigues Nogueira and Custódio Rodrigues Nogueira. The Priest Estêvão Duarte Fróes, that was Presbyter of the Habit of Saint Peter [Presbítero do Hábito de São Pedro], who had been testament executor and inventory administrator of Bento Joaquim de Siqueira Henriques da Ayalla atested, in the Tejuco Village [Arraial do Tejuco], MG, Brazil, on 20th/Dec/1779, that he praied 24 masses for the soul of the dead, by order of the Procurator of the Brotherhood of the Most Holy Sacrament [Irmandade do Santíssimo Sacramento], Luís Gomes da Fonseca. Usually, he signed herself as "Bento Joaq.m de Siqr.rª H.es da Aÿalla [sinal]", and "B.tº Joaq.m de Siqr.rª H.es da Aÿalla [sinal]".

residence: Tejuco Village [Arraial do Tejuco], MG, Brazil.

children: With Ignácia Mendes Ramos (2 or +): Luiza Victória de Siqueira Henriques da Ayala, and Maria Magdalena de Siqueira Henriques da Ayala.
