Late Talk
After a nice dinner at Kino Ly's house, M/Mme Kino Ly, M/Mme
Sihourn Um, and M/Mme Mengly Chean brought up the RU2004 subject into
discussion. Finally, we believed that we can host the RU2004
in Dallas. Kino and Madam volunteered the exploratory mission to
study the places, food, and estimated costs,
etc.
09 Sep 2002 Kidding aside, we came to a consensus to meet at Lake
Fork (about 90 miles East of Dallas) to discuss the plan for RU
2004. The meeting (Mini RU) will be on October 19, 2002.
We will be camping; so why don't you join us? Just bring a
"Pao-Y" with mosquito net (you can use a tent, of course),
some foods, and lots of funs.

The following email details the proposed
agenda, by Kino, for the Mini RU at Lake Fork on Oct 19, 2002.
Please note also a conference call set up by Kang for this Monday Oct
7. Send Kang ([email protected])
your phone number to get into the conference call.
Kino's Email--------------------------
So far the head counts are 26 (not
counting children) including wives that are coming to the meeting. I
suggest the conference call on Monday Oct 7 at 2PM.
My suggestion for the agenda:
* Opening with Welcome to the Lake
* Start discussion about the RU
* Location (Dallas or Houston)
* Date 2004 (Spring or Fall, too hot in Summer), Friday
or Saturday
* Hotel ( contacted 3 places). My wife & I
already talked to the Hotel about menu & price
* Live band ($1000.00). food not provide to
band members
* Activities after the event. Picnic at the
Park (I already talked to the food provider about
menu and price)
* Any others entertainment after the picnic
* Accommodation (group discount with the hotel)
|
* Donation/sponser
* Decoration at the hotel (at a minimum)
* Souvenir of the event (Mug, T shirt, Pens
etc...)
* Commitment of $ for deposit of hotel &
picnic
* Event moderator
* No table assigned. First come first serve.
* No guests of honor unless the committes agree
that who will be coming for free
* By region point of contact
* Decision of how much each person will be
charged
* Children or NO children (if they come parents
must pay)
* Who will be in the committee if we decide to
do in Dallas or Houston
* Miscellaneous
Mtg adjourn than let's the fun begins. These
are my suggestions of issues/concerns and not necessary in that
order.
I suggest to have the 1st meeting NO more than
2 hours unless it is necessary we can do another after dinner at the
camp fire. Someone will take note during the mtg and publish
the minutes later to the members.
On Sunday morning I have to take our CA's
friends back to DFW no later than 7:30am since their flight is
11am.
Please note of Mengly new email
address.

Kang's Email-------------------------------
Sihourn, Kino, and Mengly,
I suggest that we need to set up a conference call to go over the
agenda for
Saturday meeting and also the logistic fo food etc..
I can coordinate the conference call if we want, we just need to set
up the
time and phone # to call.
It looks like the number of attendees are growing. We need to be
organized
for the meeting.
Kino, Do you have any idea on total attendees ?
Give me a call or return the mail.

9. DONATION (badly needed)
10. Form of committee

31 Oct 2002
Because of the weather, the Mini RU
Meeting took place at Kino's residence in Plano, TX, on 19 October
2002. There were more than twenty participants, which included
four from California, and three from the East Coast. The Meeting went
extremely well (like sailing in "Mer 0"). Please
read the
minutes of the Meeting below.
