What is network topology ?

A network topology refers to
1. The layout of the computers and devices in a communications network

2. The configuration of a network that consists of cables, computers, and other peripherals .

Bus Network

A bus network consists of a single central cable (backcone/trunk) , to which all computers and other devices connect (node)
Ring Network

On a ring network , a cable forms a closed loop (ring) with all computers and devices arranged along the ring
Star Network

All the computers and other devices on the network connect to a central device (hub/switch) , thus forming a star .
