Parks
Hundreds of thousands of
people visit our pristine national parks throughout each year to come
face to face with the Big 5 and more.
Each national park has its own distinguishing features dictated by
climate and geography. For instance, the Maasai Mara and Nairobi
national parks are mainly grass plains bordered by rolling hills. The
Tsavo is a dry, bushy plain occasionally broken by steep, rocky hills.
Mt Kenya National park is chilly and heavily forested.
Its possible to find comfortable accommodation right in the middle of
several popular national parks, such as Maasai Mara, Amboseli, the
Tsavo and Shimba Hills. A number of National parks north of the country
have fewer lodgings and anyone intending to go there should make prior
arrangements before embarking on the trip.
