Lil' Wayne:  Tha Block is Hot

He's just a Lil thug trying to get his hustle on.  But just cause he's little doesn't mean he is inexperienced!  Despite his age Lil' Wayne still has a lot of things to talk about.   One intersting thing is Lil wayne cusses very little.  He may have said in magazines and interviews that he doesn't cuss but the truth is he does cuss he just doesn't go anything past n****, damn, and hell.  But that don't mean everybody else on Cash Money don't cuss!  So there still are explicits flying from his sibilings.  As a debut album its very well done.  He raps about his girls, his friends, situations, etc.  He tries verything, in which thats good cause so many people now a days right the same type of songs over and over again!  Listen to: Tha Block is Hot, Loud Pipes, Lights Off, Respect Us, and Drop it like its Hot.  +****

Missy Elliott: Da Real World

Yo yo yo vicki yo vicki yo vikci vicki vicki!!!!  Missy blew up 98 when she released her debut Lp "Supa Dupa Fly".   Missy's style consist of smooth r&b singing, futuristic beats, and outrageuos raps!  She was original and that's why the record sold so well.  This Lp continues where the other Lp left off.   And she has new friends like Eminem, Redman, Big Boi of Outkast, Beyonce, Juvenile, B.G., and many others!  In my opinion this cd isn't quite as good as "Supa Dupa Fly".  But it is still one of '99's best!  Missy's originality will keep you hooked!  Listen to: All'N MY Grill, Hot Boyz, Dangerous Mouths, She's a Bitch, and Crazy Feelings.  +****

Puff Daddy: Forever

This man needs no introduction.  The executive producer of Bad Boy entertainment blew the charts up with his debut album "Puff Daddy & The Family" in 1997.   And now he has returned with his sohpmore LP entitled "Forever"  It has to be one of the best cds of 1999.  Don't be fooled by the numerous guest appearances.... this doesn't mean he can't hold his own cause he does.  And the tracks that have guest appearances (almost all the tracks) show off various styles and sounds of Puff.  And yes there are some tracks that don't even have samples!! ^_^  Tracks like "I do this for you" have the traditional club-boucnin-Puffy sound while " Is This the End PART2" have new sounds and faster rhymes, and "Angels with Dirty Faces" speaks of incomplete thoughts and ideas of how the world will end.  The cd has it all.  Covers every topic, every emotion you have felt.  Even if you hate the fact Puff uses samples, you can't say that it doesn't sound good can you!? *****

Lox: We are the Streets

It may be of no surprise that Lox left Bad Boy and went to the Ruff Ryders label.  But at least they did it quietly wihtout clownin' or insultin' Puffy.  Anyways, the new Lp is covered with loads of Swizz Beatz productions.  And thats what's so strange.........the tracks feel like something is missing.  Nothing like Eve's cd.  Just because these are very original tracks with raw Rhymes doesn't validate them as appealing.  Some track really stand out such as F**k you, Wild Out, Ryde or Die Bitch, and U Told Me.  But others seem to be thrown together tracks of a Swizz beats-wannabe.  I do admit I like the skits (way better than Eve's)!  So because of the tracks that I do like I can't give it a a bad score.  I recommend listening to it before purchasing it.  You could love or hate it.  Or be wishy washy like me! ^_^  +***
