LCNL Year Report 1998-1999
A new National Board
The National AGM 1998 in Hellevoetsluis was the start of Circle-year 1998-1999.
National board: Veronique Stern (President), Marja Dijkstra (Vice-President), Marianne van Leeuwen-van Notten (Immediate Past President), Marga Stukje-Grootjans (Secretary), Maren van den Brink-de Wit (Treasurer).
LC Netherlands thrives!
About 30 Ladies from the Netherlands enjoyed 4 days of international circling and the warm hospitality of the Cypriot Circlers at the AGM in Cyprus.
LC The Netherlands had 2 charters and 1 circle in formation this year. The number of Circlers is about 750 and increasing!
Back to Basics
The national board visited many Circles, area-meetings, service-projects and other Circle-activities. One of the objectives was to make the distance between national board and circlers as small as possible and create and optimise the conditions for an active Circle-life.
In February 1999 the full National Board was represented at the Midtermmeeting of the Middle-European countries in Heidelberg, Germany.
Also that month, the Chairmen�s Meeting was held with discussions about items as �Back to Basics� (how to bring the objectives of LC in practice), the National AGM (how to make it more attractive?) and Area-contactpersons (tasks, value).
Internet
Many Dutch Circlers and LCNL Board members take part in the LCI-mailinglist through e-mail and is looking for possibilities to start an LCNL website.
The National Board was present at the AGM of Round Table Netherlands and the charter of the first Dutch Tangent-club.
Service
The National Serviceproject aims to raise money for summercamps for children with Cystic Fibrosis. Preparations are made for the first National Service Day on September 19th 1999. On a local level, a lot of service-projects are organised by the circles.
25th charter
For our 25th anniversary in 2000 (April 15th 2000) a special committee is busy organizing a big party.
Our LC Magazine is called Circulaire. It has a new lay-out and we are quite proud of it!
On April 24th 1999 another National AGM took place and again a year of active circling had gone by.
