IS NOT ANTIGOVERNMENT. All member(s) must be willing to support local, city, county, state, & federal authorities in time of crisis.
The purpose of the unorganized militia is to protect life, liberty, community, local, state, & national infrastructure & to assist the lawful authorities of the state & nation in time of crisis.
MILITIA Lake County Michigan
2nd Brigade 5th Division is compromised of able bodied citizens 18-60 years of age from Lake County MI.
All members are required to purchase & maintain their own rifles, ammo, uniforms & equipment. Members attend one 4 hour meeting & one 24 hour meeting a month at Level 1 & 2.
MILITIA Rifle Company consists of an 8 man headquarters section & two 16 man platoons. Each member is trained to operate in a 2 man rifle team, 4 man fire team, 8 man squad/section, 16 man platoon & as a 40 member rifle company within the brigade.
MILITIA Rifle Company Headquarters Section is responsible for organizing, training, & supervising the MILITIA Rifle Platoons to operate effectively year around.
MILITIA Rifle Company Lake County MI 2nd Brigade 5th Division is not organized as the standard squad - platoon - company size formations due to the smaller number of members than the US Armed Forces. The "2 X 2 = 4" principle allows the MILITIA to expand & decrease in size as necessary at every level & allows team members to move upward with experience while developing team confidence, team skills & maintains team integrity.
2 members = a rifle team
2 rifle teams = a fire team
2 fire teams = a squad/section
2 squads/sections = a platoon
2 rifle platoons = a company
2 rifle companies = a battalion
2 rifle battalions = regiment
2 rifle regiments within the MILITIA brigade at full infantry strength.
brigade = a county brigade means "a tactical unit & administrative unit composed of a headquarters with supporting units."
division = a district group of counties within the state
corps = all county brigades & militia divisions within the state.
Rank structure in the MILITIA Rifle Company Headquarters Section consists of a company commander a major, an executive officer/operations officer a captain, a company first sergeant, & a company training/operations/readinessNCO a sergeant first class all responsible for organizing, training, & supervising the MILITIA Rifle Company.
There are 2 platoon leaders lieutenant(s), & 2 platoon sergeant(s) staff sergeant - sergeant first class responsible for organizing, training, & supervising the two 16 man platoons & are considered part of the Company Headquarters Section. Each works as a squad leader & as a combined platoon headquarters section responsible to the company headquarters section.
In the rifle platoon(s) a two man rifle team - four man fire team consists of militia ranks private - sergeant. Four man fire team are led by the senior member corporal - sergeant of the two rifle teams with the 2nd rifle team leader acting as assistant team leader of the four man fire team.
Rifle team(s) are trained to operate as 2 man team(s) should the mission/action(s) require it. This is the basis for learning to operate as two man designated marksman sniper team(s) within the brigade sniper section at level 2.
The two man rifle teams are made up of men whom are friends & whom work with another 2 man rifle team to make up a 4 man fire team. This encourages Espirit de Corps among rifle teams & fire teams helps maintain unit effectiveness by pairing men whom are already acquainted.
Members are trained in marksmanship, camouflage, concealment, cover, observation, individual team movement, land navigation, tracking, communication, reporting, first aid, survival camping, patrolling, defensive offensive tactics, mission planning & employment.
MILITIA Rifle Company is trained to operate & conduct action(s) with & without support of the sniper section & other brigade support elements. Each rifle platoon & fire team is given the maximum amount of freedom in planning, information gathering, reporting, conducting training & actions year around within 2nd Brigade 5th Division Lake County MI boundaries.
