Summer time when rain showers come,
Summer time when thunder does clap,
When the lightning does flash,
And them empty the bucket when we are out.

Summer time it is stifling hot,
Summer time the air doesn't move,
When with the flick of wrist,
Rain showers do cool us off.

Flash floods come and go,
Poor little plants do get flooded,
After they languish and cough,
In the hot dry summer dust.

Yes, oh yes, summer time,
When the weather does change on a dime,
But does it change all that fast,
Because we do not watch the sky?
