Patient Satisfaction Analysis

Compiled by ENS LaShelle R. Hamilton

The purpose of this survey analysis is to document how Family Practice Clinic patients perceive care received at military treatment facilities across the services (Army, Air Force, & Navy).  The period studied was from January 1997 through October 1998.  A General Linear Model was utilized to examine the raw data for the dependent variable q3e (Personal interest in you and your problems).

In the analysis variable q3e (personal interest in you and your problem) was utilized with independent variables: gender, rank group, and service.  Results show that when each independent variable was individually compared with q3e, there were no significant differences encountered.  However, a significant interaction (p< .05) between service and rank group is noted.  Also, a significant interaction (p< .05) was noted among gender, rank group, and service.  Rank group W1-W4 for females all services and males in the Air Force are unaccounted for (no data available), therefore, when studying the findings one must be causious when interperting the data.

Army females rank E5-E9 felt that providers were less likely to take a personal interest in them and in their problems while E1-E4 felt strongly that providers showed interest in them and their problems.  Senior Air Force females felt that providers showed interest while junior personnel (E1-E4) felt less satisfied.  Army and Air Force males E1-E4 and Navy W1-W4 felt that providers were less likely to take a personal interest in them and their problems.
