Aggie, my first PBGV...and the beginning of this amazing journey..I have owned dogs all of my life, but Aggie has taken me down a path like no other...She was not my first hound having owned bloodhounds previously. Aggie though has taught me the true meaning of stubborn and independent..She is also one of my most endearing companions...Unlike some of my others, Aggie is a hit and run dog...rarely desirous of being on your lap...very satisfied to be in her own chair but in sight. She had to learn that a senior citizen yorkie was to be her boss early on. That was amazing to watch as Aggie never defers to anything PERIOD, but she did to this six lb bundle of energy Satin. Satin was originally my mother's dog who came to live with me upon her death. Satin died at age twenty having lived her last four years with diabetes and subsequent blindness...In that period, I watched with love and joy the bond between these two buddies..My pack had grown substantially durin g this period. Aggie would watch over Satin making sure the roughhousing of the others did not scare or hurt Satin. Aggie showed me the tremendous caretaking side of a pbgv that many owners have seen for themselves... This was never more evident to me than in the weeks following Satin's death..Aggie was inconsolable as was I...She searched everywhere for her buddy and at night would lay aside me....not budging except to rest her head on me as if to let me knew that we both had suffered a great loss...

Aggie's favorite passtime is swimming...It did not matter whether it was winter or summer...Aggie would get into the pool, roll over on the first step til she was soaking and then get out to zoon around the pool coming to the door with rightious indignation wanting to come in....soaking wet. Aggie now lives with a friend, Kathleen E. who has had to purchase a wading pool to support Aggie's love for water...

Aggie also began my show career. As I worked to immerse myself in all things pbgv...aggie was my learning partner...the Breed Standard, the dog showing community  etc.. It was with Aggie that I attended my first National Specialty in Medford Oregon. To my utter delight and amazement, Aggie was awarded Reserve Winners Bitch. I was a very proud pbgv mom!! Aggie would go on to do a substantial amount of winning in her show career taking BOS to my first import Bijou at the Western Hound Specialty in Long Beach in 99. Bred to Bijou in 99, she produced Ch. Le Chasse's Kahlua and Cream. KC took Winners Bitch at the 2000 National Speciallty and the next year, Best of Opposite Sex at the National Specialty in New Orleans. In 2006, it was a great honor to show Aggie as a veteran where she took Best Veteran in National Sweepstakes to the glee of both Kathleen and I.
