page 4 Who is the Director?
(a.k.a. Meet the Teacher)
This is what the identification badges in Ledgerwood Laboratories look like.  Every student has his/her own badge.  They are expected to wear them each day in class (like a security badge at a research laboratory).
BACKGROUND:
I was born and raised on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington state.  I graduated from Sequim High School in 1992 and attended Washington State University.  After earning a BS in Chemistry, I moved on to graduate school at WSU.  One of my responsibilities as a graduate student was being a TA for a general chemistry class.  It was during this time that I decided to become a teacher.  I was accepted into the Education program at WSU and earned my certificate in 1999.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
Substitute teaching: Sequim and Port Angeles, WA (Spring 1999, Fall 2000 - 2001)
Middle School: Stevens Middle School, Port Angeles, WA (1999-2000)
High School: Grandview High School, Grandview, WA (2001-present)

CLASSES TAUGHT:
I currently teach chemistry and ninth-grade integrated science.

EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES:
Knowledge Bowl:
Head coach
C Squad Girls Basketball

Japanese Animation Club: Advisor
Senior Class: Advisor

HOBBIES AND INTERESTS:
Believe it or not, I currently own six cars ('58 Chevy BelAir, '65 Mustang, 2 Minis, '85 Chevy Citation, and a '94 Mercury Sable).  If you're interested in one, let me know!  :-)

In my free time, I like to read and play golf.  I am an amateur magician who specializes in close-up magic and have collected 50-cent pieces since 6th grade (I have over 100 pounds of them).
