team dinner
The season-ending team dinner is tentatively scheduled for
Friday, May 7.
You should attend if you've ever played with the team or
come to practice or if you think you may want to join the team next
year.
last tournaments
We have tourneys scheduled for both Saturday and Sunday
May 1 and 2. It would be great to see some people who haven't been
out in a while come to these. lemony tourney
Our big spring tournament attracted 16 teams in open and
coed divisions. Wheaton missed semifinals by two points in a capped
game. We had our best turnout of players all spring, which was
sweet. We raised money to pay for uniforms and other needs.
spring break
We sent nine players to Savannah, Georgia for the High
Tide spring break tournament. Be sure to check out the DVD starring
Kristina, Cliff, Cullan, Ryan, Owen, Mark, Matt W., Steve, and most of
all, Nick.
live freeze or die championship
Lemony Fresh won the 14th annual Live Freeze or
Die tournament February 14 in New Hampshire! Our team was a
combo of Wheaton players Kristina, Cullan, Ryan, Cliff, and Nick; Redshirt
from Bridgewater; and club players and other friends of Cape's
(Lindsey & Colleen from NEU, Leanne, Melissa, Kate, Jason, Mark,
& Salsa).
Once our name is engraved alongside the 13 previous
champions, the sweet LFD trophy will come to Wheaton to spend the next
year.
snow bowl
The inaugural Wheaton
Snow Bowl tournament was Super Bowl Sunday. It was a huge
success (considering Kristina and Cape put it together over the
weekend). Players from seven schools (Brandeis, Roger Williams, WPI,
Wentworth, Bridgewater, and Wheaton) competed in a four-team round
robin. The weather was nice and sunny and six inches of snow made
for some soft layouts.
I think this should become an annual event. If we
get more snow, we could even have another one this year.
winter practice
Late-night practice in
Haas has started! New players are welcome to come out anytime.
We're working on fundamentals, review, and conditioning. Plyometrics
starts next week.
