Jay on a Business Trip to Chicago!

"Our Song"

"Just the Way You Are" by Billy Joel

Jay and I met in high school. His sister and I were good friends in high school. After 3 years of friendship, Jay and I started dating. He asked me to marry him one month later. I said, yes. We were officially engaged 9 months later and married 9 months after that on May 19, 1979.

Jay attended Bucks County Community College for one and a half years following high school toward a mechanical engineering degree. Since he enjoyed the job he had at the time, he decided not to continue with his degree and decided to stay with that company. He has worked there ever since. He works for an engineering and manufacturing corporation. He originally started in their Screw Machine Department working as a machinist. He held other positions in that department and turned down promotions for other management positions while awaiting and accepting a promotion to their EDM Department. His job entails working with computerized machinery to make tools and dies for his company and outside orders as they are recieved.

Jay has many hobbies. He holds marksmenship status from the ROTC program in High School and has competed in local matches at local gun clubs. He enjoys target shooting (both pistols and rifles), hunting (rifle and bow), fishing, autocross racing, and restoration of automobiles. He recently gave away his most prized restoration project, his 1963 Sunbeam Alpine Series III convertible, to his friend - as he was unable to spend the time needed to restore it. He also owned a 1968 Ford Cougar and a 1967 Oldsmobile Cutlass, but due to lack of facilities and time to work on them, he decided to sell these two projects, also. As a compromise for the loss of his Sunbeam, Jay purchased a 1996 Special M Edition Mazda Miata.

Jay's other interests include science fiction, the space program, history, orchids, aquariums, and planes. He loves Hockey, his favorite team is, of course, the Philadelphia Flyers. He also enjoys drag racing and air shows. We share a love for basketball (youth, high school, college and women's professional). Jay and I also share the same political viewpoints - we are both very conservative. We both also have the same tastes in music. Our favorite music is "classic rock and roll". His favorite activity is his walks on the canal with our dog, Prince. Jay absolutely loves these outings. He is not a churchgoing man and states the canal is "his" church. Jay has held memberships with the National Rifle Association (NRA), the Delaware Valley Historical Aircraft Association (DVHAA), Bucks County Fish and Game, and Sports Car Club of America (SCCA).

Jay has been a good husband and a very committed father. He gets "Best Fan of the Century Award" for his committment to his daughters' sports events. These events ranged from gymnastics with our youngest daughter, Pat from 1990 to 1993, and instructional league basketball with our oldest daughter, Ang from 1989 to 1996 (and Pat from 1995 through 1999) through Ang's high school and college basketball years ending in 2003, including summer AAU basketball leagues and camps. Jay not only missed very few of these events, but spent countless hours as a scorekeeper, an aid during practices, plus various other duties, and also spent countless hours of his time driving back and forth to these events. Hugs and praise abounded during all these events as did much support and encouragement during the difficult periods (to all the athletes and staff involved).

Jay is the best friend a person could ask for. He is always there for his friends when they need him. Nothing is too much trouble. He is (and will always be) my "best friend".

Private Joke: "I keep telling him I don't want to be his wife anymore.
I just wanna be friends..."

I know most married women (and honest men) out there can relate! LOL...

(JUST KIDDING, JAY!)

Now, Jay, I wouldn't be me if I didn't include that, now, would I?
You know I just HAD to say that! HA HA HA... You know I love ya, hon!
