| Part 1: Your Adventure Begins! (Pallet Town-Mt. Moon) Pallet Town You start the game in your room. The first thing you do is go and withdraw a Potion from your PC. After that leave your house and go North to the grass. Professor Oak comes running and tells you not to go in the grass because of wild Pokemon and tells you to come to his lab. When you enter the lab Professor Oak will give you a rundown on the Pokemon on his desk. We reccomend you start with Bulbasaur, the Grass Pokemon, or Squirtle, the water Pokemon. If you want a challenge start with Charmander, but be warned, the first two Gym Leaders are very hard with Charmander! After you pick up your Pokemon and try to leave the lab, your rival will challenge you to your first Pokemon Battle! Just use tackle on him or scratch if you have Charmander. If you are in the Danger Zone with your HP use the Potion you got from your PC at the start of the game. This battle should be a breeze and you will get a fair amount of money and your Pokemon will go up a level. After this return to your house for healing (if you need to) After that, go up the grassy path and head to Viridian City. Viridian City: On the way to Viridian city you will encounter a few wild Pokemon (Pidgey and Rattata). Talk to everyone you see, one will give you a free Potion! Head to the Pokemon Center and go to the Front desk. You may heal any wounds your Pokemon may have. Go to your menu and save. Head to the shop and get Oak's Parcel. Head back to Pallet and deliver the Parcel. You will recive a Pokedex from Oak. The Pokedex lets you view Pokemon you have seen, their territory and if you have cought them, a little info on the Pokemon. Go to Gary's house and get a Town Map from his sister. Go back to Viridian, heal, save and buy Poke Balls from the Poke Mart. Go down to the grass and fight a level 3 or higher Pidgey and Rattata. Fight them, get their HP in the Danger Zone and throw a Poke Ball! You should catch em easy! Raise you starting Pokemon to level 10 and others to level 6-8 and venture to the left to Route 22. Catch some more new wild Pokemon (Spearow, Nidoran Male/Female). Go heal, and go up that stairs to fight your rival. He has his starter at level 8 and a Pidgey at level 9. This battle should be easy if you still have that Potion the man gave you and are a high level. After the battle, go heal and buy more Poke balls. Save, and head on up to Viridian Forest. Raise about 2 levels and if you fight a Pikachu, try your best to catch it. If the Pikachu is level 5 just throw the Poke ball, it should instantly catch it and lower/higher, you must take it to danger. Catch a Caterpie and Weedle. Fight the 3 Bug catchers. They are very easy. Try to get any items you may see. Leave the forest and head on up to Pewter City! Pewter City: Before you do anything go to the Pokemon Center and heal, we reccomend you save. Go to the store and pick up some Potions (you will probobly need them). Go to the Gym and save at the doors. By now your team should probably look something like this: Starter Level 12, Rattata level 9, Pikachu Level 10, Pidgey/Spearow level 8, Beedrill/Butterfree level 12, Nidoran Male/Female level 8. Fight the Jr. Trainer. He has a Sandshrew and a Diglett. After you beat him go to the Pokemon Center and heal. Go and fight Brock but save before you do! Brock has a level 12 Geodude and a level 14 Onix. Crush his Geodude (it can only use Tackle) with Vine Whip, Bubble or Butterfree's confusion if you have Charmander. Onix is tough, he is level 14 and is probobly a higher level than any of your Pokemon. When he uses the attack called Bide, use Growl, Tail Whip, harden ect. If you attack him he will pay the dange back double. Keep doing this until he uses the attack and it does nothng. Use any Potions you have to beat him. After you beat him you will get the BoulderBadge and TM34, Bide. The path to Mount Moon should now be open. Heal, and save. This concludes part 1 of the Walkthrough! |
