Lord of the Rings The Fellowship of the Ring The Two Towers The Return of the King |
Director: Peter Jackson Written by: JRR Tolkien (book) Frances Walsh (screenplay) Orlando's character: Legolas Greenleaf, a 2,900-year-old elvin warrior. |
Summary: In ancient times, the Rings of Power were created by the Elven-smiths, and Sauron, the Dark Lord, forged the One Ring, filling it with his own power so that he could rule all the others. But the One Ring was taken from him, and though he sought it throughout Middle-Earth still it remained lost to him. After many ages, it fell, by chance, into the hands of a Hobbit, Bilbo Baggins. On his eleventy-first birhtday, Bilbo disappeared, bequeathing to his young cousin, Frodo, the Ruling Ring, and a perilous quest: to journey across Middle-Earth, deep into the shadow of the Dark Lord and destroy the Ring by casting it into the cracks of Doom. Written by: The Tolkien Society Posted at: imdb.com My Thoughts: Ok, I confess -- I've seen the first movie 14 times, including the 12:01 AM showing on December 19th, and I'm sure I'm not done. This is the movie that I fell in love with Orlando. His performance is incredible, but it's supported by the performances of every other actor in the movie. What a film. What a guy. More thoughts to come... Support Orlando! When you see this movie in the theatre, give a scream for him when he first appears in the movie (after he dismounts from his horse). It's a little tradition his fans have around here in Pennsylvania. |
