Leon sat in with Paul Shaffer & the CBS Orchestra for the whole show. Leon's band was not seen on this visit, although the bus could be seen down the street in one of the outdoor segments. Only the beginning & endings of songs were heard throughout the program. These were:

Prior to his solo segment later in the show, Leon sat in with Paul Shaffer & the CBS Orchestra. During the commercial breaks Leon sang Jumpin Jack Flash, Delta Lady, and Tightrope. Of these the TV audience only got the hear the beginning & ends of the songs. At the end of the show, Jack Wessel, Johnny Lee Giles, & Teddy Jack Bridges joined Leon on stage to perform Back to the Island. Dave had made a special request that Leon play the song.
