15 March 2002
CMT Buses have announced further plans to invest in new modern buses with the order of 40 new single deckers.
From April 2002 5 new Plaxton Pointer Dennis Dart SLFs will join the fleet.  Following on from this a further 5 will be bought each October and April for the next 4 years.
20 March 2002
The last 3 remaining Leyland Nationals in the operational fleet will be withdrawn with the introduction of new buses in April 2002.  Once the workhorse of the CMT fleet, the final 3 will soon disappear.  For the final chance to see these buses, they are mainly used services 80, 82 or occasionaly 10A.
22 April 2002
Very shortly the first of the new Plaxton SPD/Dennis Dart SLFs will begin to enter service.  CMT have further plans for the introduction of new bus services.  However until the fleet improves no changes to services or additional services will be implemented.
12 June 2002
The business of CMT Buses of Aintree has been taken over by GTL Glenvale Transport.  Both operations will continue in their present form, but will be integrated in the future.
16 March 2006
Operations were sold to Stagecoach 13 July 2005 and are now branded as Stagecoach Merseyside.  Major changes to the services operated and the bus fleet have been made since takeover and to date.  A huge investment in 75 brand new Alexander Dennis Pointer Darts has been made with many more Stagecoach standard types drafted in.
Operations are still run from Gillmoss and Aintree Depots although many route changes have seen former CMT routes transferred or amalgamated with Gillmoss services.  The down at heel shabby fleet inherited from GTL has really satrted to change with the new buses.  The former CMT buses are still operated and some Volvo B10L's have been refurbished by Stagecoach Carlisle.
