Well,
well, well. When good news comes it comes in spades. Not only had Michiko
won the 1st Annual World Stunt Award for best Aerial Stunt (the award show
will be broadcast on ABC on Saturday 6/16/01 at 7 pm. check
your local listings ) but she is also the subject of a small
article in this weeks (5/29/01) edition of TV Guide Magazine. Pick it up
and hold on to it. The photo is very cool. |

Just
a note to alert you fans to a new website that has pop up on the www. Webmaster
Phil has created a very cool tribute to the "GIRLS WITH GUNS" genre. With
a good writing style and a fair amount of wit, the site is a nice addition
to an overlooked area of HK entertainment. The site also includes quite
a few cool photos (some of which I' haven't seen on the web before) Check
it out at Hong
Kong Girls With Guns. I'm certain you'll enjoy it. |

On
April 4, Tune into the "Tonight Show" with Jay Leno. Michiko will
be performing in a spoof of "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon". Please
check it out if you can. We'll try to get captures from the program and
set them up as soon as we can. |

"Charlie's
Angel's" is finally out on DVD. Why is this such a big deal?
Well, if you watch the film carefully (in slow-mo) you can spot Michiko
in several scenes. But the real kicker is the Maiden of Mayhem being mentioned
by name in the Director's Commentary on the disc. Check out Chapter 17
("Vivian's Assassins") and listen to Director McG give Michiko her due.
She is the only stunt person mentioned by name in the commentary.
I'm beginning to think that people are starting to notice our girl!!
Also Michiko has just finished
stunt work on Universal Pictures Mummy prequel "The Scorpion King",
staring
WWF superstar Rocky "The Rock" Johnson. A high fall through a waterfall.
Not much, but hey a credit is a credit. |

Some of Michiko's friends in New York have set
up an official fan club for her Japanese speeking fans (http://www.michiko-nishiwaki.com).
It links back to here at the moment, but soon we'll have a Japanese language
version up and running within the year. |

Hey fans, great news. Michiko
is heavily into 'RUSH HOUR 2" and now word comes that she's just
picked up the Jonathan Frakes' (Riker, from Star Trek the Next Generation)
upcoming sci-fi flick "CLOCK STOPPERS". Michiko is bouncing between
both productions, and the fun news (rumor) is that she may even have a
character part in one or both of these productions. Lets keep our fingers
crossed.
Oh and by the way.. "Gong

Alright friends, two bits
of news. Firstly, Michiko has been going through rehabilitation for the
injury to her biceps, and while there is some internal deformity to the
muscle (and an unavoidable scar), Michiko has regained most of her strength.
She estimates that she is 95 % back to normal. She has full mobility of
the arm, and her strength and tone is returning. It looks like 2001 may
be a great year. Michiko is currently up for work on "Rush Hour 2"
(working again with Big Brother, Jackie). Here's hoping that the future
continues to be bright. |

Your Web master here. Since
I've been lax in setting up the reviews section, here is a link to a marvelously
written site that offers in-depth reviews of all of Michiko's films. With
lots of good quality frame captures (damn I'm envious). Check it out by
clicking the montage above. Enjoy. http://brns.com/michiko/pages/michiko.html |

Michiko's progress report!!
First off, here is a message
to all of Michiko's fans and supporters.
"Thank
you to all of my fans and friends for the kind messages and well wishes.
Your good spirits means a lot to me and I am very, very grateful. Thank
you for all of your support and kindness. I wish you all, only the very
best. Stay well, and remember.. adversity is only a stepping stone towards
success.
All
my respect and love,
Michiko."
And with that, the news.
Michiko has undergone surgery on her left biceps (which was torn in half).
The doctors successfully re-attactched the muscle to itself, and now Michiko
is undergoing therapy to regain her strength. The Doctors stated that it
was only due to Michiko's tremendous physical conditioning that has allowed
her to heal as well as she has. We are still waiting to see what the final
outcome will be. The Doctors are saying that she may lose 20% movement
in the arm. But, knowing Michiko that is not a consideration. She is working
hard to get herself back into shape, and is looking into other opportunities
in her career. Is anybody at Saben Entertainment listening.. we've got
the ultimate villain for the new 'Power Rangers' right here.
Finally, my own thank you
to all of you that took the time to write and send in your good wishes.
Thanks and God Bless all of you. |

Terrible, terrible news!!
Your
prayers and support are needed. On June 1st. while performing a high fall,
Michiko severally injured herself. According to the early reports, it looks
as if she has torn the muscle in her left arm. I am currently waiting (with
the rest of her family and friends) to hear the exact extent of the injury.
The stunt was performed without the assistance of Woo Ping and his team,
and no fault to being placed on any group or individual. This is just one
of the hazards of stunt work.
Please send in you good wishes
and I will make certain that Michiko receives them. I know that she appreciates
all the support that her friends and fans have given her over the years,
and she continually strives to perfect her craft. Now it's time to let
her know how much we care and respect her.
Michiko, our prayers are
with you. Get well.. soon. |

Well, it has been a marvelously exciting year. And this new year looks
to be even more so. Michiko is currently working on the film version/
remake of "CHARLIE'S ANGELS", as Lucy Liu's stunt double.
This is some sort of a reunion for Michiko, as she is now reunited with
some of the same friends she worked with on "In the Line of Duty 3".
Of course you all know that Yuen Cheung-Yan, Yuen Woo-Ping's
brother
and his team are training Drew Barrymore, Cameron Diaz, and Ms. Liu and
are also handling the fight choreography. Michiko has promised that photos
from the shoot (behind the scenes stuff), will be forthcoming as soon as
we can get past some of the legal stuff. |
Dec
1999: |
Michiko
has been very busy this past year (as has been this Editor). With her continued
duties on CBS' "MARTIAL LAW", Michiko has been working on a workout
video with famed martial artist Cung
Le (click on the name to visit TC Media's web site if you'd like
to purchase the video. |
Oct.
1999: |
Tai
Seng Video Marketing has
imported/ released the famed "In the Line of Duty" series on DVD. This
is possibly one of Michiko's best and most ruthless performances. The film
is nothing if not action packed, and of course Michiko's numerous fight
scenes are nothing but a joy to behold. You can order the title from Tai
Seng directly or visit FIVE
STAR LASER's web site. The DVD is also available at most Video
/ DVD outlets. |

1998: |
Michiko Is currently in
Orlando, Florida filming an episode of the TNT series "MORTAL KOMBAT".
Kung Lau had better watch his butt on this one, cause if anyone could kick
him into the netherworld.. It's got to be the Maiden of Mayhem.
Oh, and those dummies over
at "V.I.P." (the Pamela Anderson series) and asking Michiko to return
to the set. Seems as if they forgot to finish her scenes and they need
her back for the big climatic fight sequence. ha, ha. The finished episode
should air (?) sometime in January. I'll keep you all posted. |
Oct.
1998: |
Michiko has just flown off
to Hawaii to film an episode of ABC's new series 'FANTASY ISLAND'.
She is to play a Japanese soldier in a fantasy segment of an upcoming episode.
Michiko is looking forward to the part as it gives her several nice action
scenes (nothing too drastic though) but affords her an opportunity to act. |
Sept.
1998: |
Michiko
has just finished filming her scenes with Jim Carrey in the Andy
Kaufman Bio pic. Michiko plays one of several female wrestlers that Kaufman
fought with during his infamous wrestling period. All reports are saying
that the producers (Danny DeVito especially) and Director Milos Foreman
were very pleased with Michiko's performance. |
July
1998: |
Michiko
has been signed to be the stunt double of Kelly Hu on the upcoming TV series
"MARTIAL LAW" for CBS. Stanley Tong is the producer of the series along
with Carlton Cruse, and Andre Morgan. The series is the American premiere
of martial art and action star SAMMO HUNG KAM-PO. With Michiko's history
with Sammo, there's hope that she may well be given more to do than just
stunt work. But being the kind of person Michiko is, she won't ask for
favors. So okay fans, Let's start that letter campaign. |

Tai
Seng Video Marketing has released the videos "HARD TO DIE" (Dragon
Fighter) and "THUNDER MISSION" (Losing Treasures) on VHS. In "Hard to Die',
Michiko is featured as a terrorist bent on revenge. Watch for the battle
on the dock, as Michiko received numerous bruises and trauma during this
sequence. By the way, she refers to the wading suit she wears in this scene
as "The Barney Costume" as it was a size too big for her.
'Thunder Mission' is being
released as part of Tai Seng's "Les Femmes Fatale" which will also include
the Moon Lee / Yukari Oshima actioner "KICKBOXER'S TEARS and Cynthia Khan's
'LADY HUNTER'. As for Michiko's film, she rather likes her acting in this
film as it was the first opportunity for her to show a range of emotion.
She also got to show off some of her acrobatic skills. Unfortunately, due
to an unfortunate budget cut, Michiko was obliged to supply her own wardrobe.
