Leopards
Leopards tend to be shy animals and generally don't get real close to people.  They usually hunt at night and their favorite method of hunting is to lie down on a path with their nose upwind.  When an unsuspecting animal comes along, he attacks.  Leopards are the most proficient hunters and have very powerful jaws.  A leopard will often climb a tree with an impala in his teeth.
This leopard was seen at Kruger National Park in March 2007.  We had stopped at a water hole to just look around.  The picture above was what we could see with our naked eye.  Suddenly Marie said, "There's a leopard on top of that wall."  And sure enough there was.  We were able to zoom in with our camera to take these pictures.
Leopards are pretty rare sightings--somewhere between a lion sighting and a cheetah sighting.  You don't see them every trip to the park so it's always special to get a good view of one like this.
