I soon found a place to park the car and walked straight through the door of the Hollywood Showbar, something, I found out later, most are unable to accomplish at first, most get to the door, turn round and go home.
(Aren't I a brave little Girl then)
With my bag, membership form and cheque
in hand I entered the door and joined on the spot, in for a penny in for a pound.
(A little bit more than a pound really)
I was told Mary; the hostess was in the changing room and soon found her. All the girls in there gave me a warm welcome and I was invited to change, which is
hard to do when you are shaking like a leaf.
Afterwards Mary introduced me to a nice
girl called Patricia who looked after me and gave me tips on the protocol in and around
the club and  the Manchester Village.
Later that night I took my first venture out of the club and into the village area, in the company of Patricia and one or two girls.
Stopping off at the Rembrant for a chat and a cup of coffee.
Well, that night ended all too fast and I was hooked,
I just had to go back again.
Anyway to cut this ever-growing
story a bit shorter,
(I talk as much as I write)
we became very good friends, albeit long distance friends, as she lived in Carlisle and I lived one hundred and seventy miles away in North Staffordshire. Well, the inevitable happened, we had a weekend
together at Bollington, near Macclesfield, in February 2000,
another Northern Concord event.
At this point we were still good friends but it was decided that if I got a house she would move down to me.
(Yes I did, I got a House)
So at the end of August she moved down to live with me
and we got engaged.
Up to the Present
Well, it was one of those once in a life time coincidences that happen from time to time.
On my third visit to the Northern Concord I
saw a lady there, she was visiting the club
in the company of a concord member.
We saw each other but we never were able to speak, that might well have been the last time
I would have seen her, but by coincidence she attended the Dinner Party of the Northern Concord at Stockport in the September 1999.
I was having a makeover done in the afternoon and after, I looked up and she was there.
We both knew, it was that once in a
lifetime contact that said so much.
Once again the Dinner Party at Stockport came around in September 2000, and after the
after diner speeches I got up and made a speech of my own,
(Oh yes I did)
I asked Anne the lady in question to become  my wife
and she said yes, well she nodded her acceptance, as she was in tears at the time.
So to put this story to bed so to speak, on November 9th. 2000 we got married.
(And they both lived happily ever after)
