The Colts played the return fixture at Birnham Park and it turned out to be another close game between the two sides,Connor Davis came on as sub and hit the post with a low drive. The second period was dominated by Calverton who managed to score 2 goals. In the third period a hard working Joe Coxon and Callum Thompson were rewarded with goals.Joe Coxon scored the first and then Callum Thompson ran down the left  before pulling the ball back to net at a sharp angle. With only a few seconds remaining a solo run from Joe Coxon and shot into the top corner of the goal to win the game for the Colts.

        MOORGREEN COLTS       3 v 5       STAPLEFORD

 Friendly

A very well organised Stapleford team led 2 - 0 at the first break. Both teams were changed and our lads played very well but unfortunately went down to 5 - 1 with Callum Thompson coming on as sub and scoring a cracker from close range. Finally in the third period Connor Bayldon stepped up a gear, scoring and then getting a penalty from a solo run which he put away clinically. This was our best performance to date.

This was a solid and organised performance from the under 7's against a Codnor team which worked very hard but lacked match practice. The first goal came from the man of the match Joe Coxon who's workrate was fantastic. The second came from a winding run from Reagan Marriot. At half time we changed the entire team except for Reagan and goalkeeper Joe Flinders. The third came from a low drive hit first time by Joshua Hunt.Reagan finished off a terrific performance with another winding run ending with a goal.

Next fixture is on Sat 2nd Nov at home to Priory Celtic 10:30am Kick Off..

In the B team game Moorgreen enjoyed most of the possesion having scored through a goal mouth scramble by Derry Hickman. Unfortunately we couldn't turn the possesion into goals.

       PRIORY CELTIC A       2 v 1      MOORGREEN COLTS A

An evenly matched game which swung the way of Priory Celtic due to us twice not clearing our lines. However the goal of the day came from a fantastic run down the left wing by Reagan Marriot who finally crossed for Callum Thompson to put it away.

In the second game in a ten minute spell the Colts found themselves trailing and with another strike from Reagan Marriot the game ended 4-1to the hosts and 5-2 overall.

RIPLEY TOWN COLTS       4 v 6      MOORGREEN COLTS

 Friendly

The game consisted of three 20 minute thirds. The first third was for the 2 A teams. Ripley scored after 2 mins and did seem to have the edge for the whole 20 mins. Magnificent work rate from Reagan Marriott rewarded with 2 goals along with his excellent defending took the sides 2 - 2 at the break. The second period was for the B-teams.This was our B-teams finest performance.Everybody played to their highest standard, remembering the jobs they'd been asked to perform in the teamtalk.Robbie Manners was outstanding covering every inch of the pitch. Ripley managed to get a goal at the end of the period when the ball slipped through the keepers legs. The third period was for the A teams and was totally dominated by Moorgreen. Macauley Smith kept everything tight at the back while goals from Joshua Hunt, Connor Bayldon and 2 for Joe Coxon secured a 6 - 4 win. The overall performance proving that this Moorgreen squad are capable of giving anybody a good game.

Next game 14/12/02 away at bingham Town 10:30 Kick-Off..

       MOORGREEN COLTS A       2 v 3      PRIORY CELTIC A

 Friendly

The A team lost 3-2 against Priory Celtic.A slow start for Moorgreen after the Christmas break.A few of the lads had forgotten their roles on the pitch. All three of the Priory goals were our own fault due to not attacking the ball in important areas.Moorgreen started to get on top of the game when they realised that it was easier  to pass the ball than to run with it. Some lovely football resulted in Connor Bayldon breaking free and coolly putting the ball in the top right hand corner of the goal. Our second goal came from a period of sustained pressure which finally fell to Callum Thompson who put it away with venom using the outside of his right foot.        MOORGREEN COLTS B       1 v 5      PRIORY CELTIC B

 Friendly

The B-team lost 5-1 against a Priory Celtic side that had to include two A team players.Another excellent performance from the B team who worked very well as a  unit.Particularly high praise for Peter McColl who is starting to compete for an A-team place. The only natural left footer in the squad,he was solid in the tackle, strong on the run and managed to cut a couple of lovely passes through to Connor Davies who distribution was also good but didn't really get a lot of service.
A special thanks to Doug Wilcockson who made us very welcome at our new home ground at BrookHill Leys school.
