This movie is a romantic comedy, which stars Nia Vardolas and Michael Constantine. Viewers can identify with the family members. The movie deals with a 30-year old plain Greek woman named Toula (Nia Vardalos), who has low self-esteem and longs to become a career person instead of a seating hostess in her family's resturant (Dancing Zorbas). Toula's only obtacle is her father, Gus (Michael Constanine), who has a strong belief that Greek women were born to fulfill three destinies in life: to marry a Greek man, reproduce Greek children and to be able to feed everyone. Toula sets her eyes on a customer who walks into her family's resturant, this action reveals rebellion because Ivan Miller (John Corbett) is not Greek. This event changes Toula's life and shows how a Greek family functions.
