PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

02/01 - Present:   Northside Independent School District, San Antonio, TX.

Substitute Teacher (1-12) for the Northside Independent School District at all grade levels.  Teach all subject matter including computers and computer drafting.  Discipline and correct students and their behavior when problems arise.  Specialize in Math, Sciences, Computers, and Special Ed.

 

1999 - Present:  The Computer Paramedics, San Antonio, TX. 

Build, install, repair, and troubleshoot PCs of various levels and platforms, and most peripherals, i.e., modems, printers, etc, for personal home computers.  Install any software on the market and troubleshoot.  Will design webs, graphics, and databases upon request. Experienced with MS FrontPage web design and other web software / tools and MS Access database.

 

Feb 1998 - Oct. 1999:  Electronic Data Systems, San Antonio, TX.

Systems Engineer Associate.  Professional level III technician to install and support medical telecom and messaging software for a multi-hospital / doctor client base.  Managed and monitored the internal communications center to insure 100% uptime.  Enforced internal security measures.  Computing platforms include various based PCs under Windows 95/98/NT, UNIX, AIX, XENIX, Novell, and Peer-to-Peer communication protocols.  1,000 sites from San Antonio to Austin, to the coastal areas and about 4,500 user/customers.  Knowledged in call center solutions and help-desk software and tracking systems.  1 yr 9 mos.

 

Jan. 1995 - Oct. 1997:  3D Technology, Ltd., Colorado Springs, CO.

Installed, configured and repaired PC's and software. Specialized in customizing, and trouble shooting MS Windows 95 and MS Office products.  2 yrs 10 mos.

 

Jan. 1987 - Apr. 1997:  U.S. Federal Government Civil Service (10 years) at the following locations:

US Army, Colorado:    Information Management Systems Specialist. Provided user support in installation, maintenance, and training in PC hardware and software in Windows 95/NT and Novell environments. Assisted in contract procurement activities for ADP, COTS, and network systems for the Army's FORCE XXI and Battle Lab.  Knowledged in call center solutions and help-desk software and tracking systems.  2 yrs 8 mos.

US Army, Virginia:   Senior Programmer/Analyst. Lead P/A in the development of the Bureaus' standard integrated management information system. Hardware platforms included UNISYS, IBM, AMDAHL, and AT&T mid-range systems, and IBM compatible PC's. Software included COBOL, JCL, VSAM, UNIX, and Oracle. Network systems included Novell, Banyon VINES, and Lantastic.  1 yr 10 mos.

US Army, SHAPE, Belgium Europe (Promotion):    Supervisor/Computer Specialist. Implemented various DOD, DA, and USAR Europe medical systems for the 7th Medical Command in the Benelux area (Belgium, Netherlands, and Luxemburg.  Performed full supervisory duties. Performed network, security, and database administration activities. Trained users on hardware and software use. Platforms included UNISYS 5000 and IBM PC's running Oracle and Unix. Wrote risk assessment analysis (JACHO).  Knowledged in call center solutions and help-desk software and tracking systems.  3 yrs 2 mos.

US Air Force, San Antonio, TX:    Programmer/Analyst.  Programming duties in support of the Time & Attendance and Process Planning applications.  Programmed in COBOL/VSAM, BASIC, and INGRES on SPERRY, IBM, and TANDEM computers.  1 yr 1 mo.

US Air Force, Denver, CO:    Programmer/Analyst.  Programming duties in support of the Joint Uniformed Military Payroll System (JUMPS).  Team member of several teams charged with reducing the system processing time.  Modified several modules to remove obsolete code and take advantage of new language facilities.  Programmed in COBOL, CICS, Assembler, and BASIC on IBM 370, AMDAHL, and IBM PC computers.

 

Prior 1987 -- Private Sector Employment as follows:

Self-Employed, San Antonio, TX:    Developed and marketed accounting, budgeting, statistical, and payroll software for restaurant and retail clients.  The packages ran on IBM PC and mainframe computers and were written in C.  1 yr 4 mos.

Handy Dan (W.R. Grace Co.)., San Antonio, TX:    Programmer Analyst.  Maintained A/P, A/R, Payroll, and Point-of-Sale systems.  Programmed in COBOL and CICS on IBM 4331/4341 computers running the DOS/VSE and MVT operating systems.   3 mos - company closed.

1776, Inc., San Antonio, TX:    Computer Operations Supervisor.  Managed computer operations and data entry personnel.  Programmed new data entry applications.  Code was written in COBOL, Basic, RPGII, and DATABUS on a DATAPOINT ARCNET computer.

User Systems Services, Inc. San Antonio, TX:    Data Entry Supervisor.  Supervised overall operations of the data entry department.  Set priorities and scheduled jobs.  Responsible for editing, balancing and distribution of reports.  8 yrs 3 mos.
