About
the Program
Youth Quest is a program specially designed
for a youthful audience.
The production philosophy behind the show's
concept is to engage a reality-based travelogue format
to present an interesting, entertaining and fresh experience for the
viewers.
The unknown element in the show also
hopes to develop an emotional depth and thus leave a deeper and longer
impression on viewers.
The organisers wanted to demostrate the spirit
of youth, independence, and thrill-seeking characteristic of the
new generation.
The 5 youths had to endure physical challenges and strange cultures
to solve missions. At the same time, to bring across the the "can-do"
attitude of Singapore Youths.
Reality
Based
During the trip, multiple cameras were used
to capture the most natural side of the youths. The cameras filmed every
moment of the journey, from accomplishing missions, traveling around,
eating, to sleeping.
Watch them laugh, watch them fall, watch them cry
and watch them grow up with the journey.
Challenges
To make the trip more challenging and interesting
to the audience, the production crew set a daily budget for the
5 youths to spend on the trip.
With limited resources, the five were
challenged to make the best of their resources and rough it out in unknown
lands.
No assistance was offered to the youths, who
had to make their way to the destinations of interest using their wits
and skills.
