analog trunked radio systems |
This year (2000), there has been several changes in trunked radio
systems in the Quad-Cities. NEXTEL bought the two Illowa systems in the
Quad-Cities, then they announced that they had bought the natiowide trunked
system assets of ChadMoore. Locally there are two systems easch in Davenport,
Des Moines & Burlington. So we have merged the previous two pages to
one.
The change of ownership means one thing for the scanner listener.
In other areas of the country. When NEXTEL bought systems. The systems
are slowly changed by moving channels from the analog systems to their
national iden system. Till the system can be closed.
There was some changes to these system in 2002. Nextel Analog 0222 and 4725 have lost/exchanged several frequencies. Illowa has started building a new system 930F and some the customers on Nextel Analog have moved other to it. The former ChadMoore systems seem to lost customers, to where is unknown. At least one frequency on 0222 is now part of River City's LTR system which swap channels. |
