( K )  JDS  -  DENIES A PHYSICAL RESURRECTION ONLY OF JESUS CHRIST   ( LUKE 24:36-39 )

By professing a spiritual death in addition to the physical death of Jesus Christ for sins then there should have been a spiritual resurrection of Jesus Christ in addition to His physical resurrection from the grave.  Nevertheless, the scriptures write nothing of a spiritual resurrection of Jesus Christ anymore than they write of a spiritual death of Jesus Christ.  In Lukes gospel account are written these words;

36.  And as they thus spake, Jesus himself stood in the midst of them, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.
37.  But they were terrified and affrighted, and supposed that they had seen a spirit.
38.  And he said unto them, Why are ye troubled? and why do thoughts arise in your hearts?
39.  Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see;
for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have. -  Luke 24:36-39

Scriptures clearly write of the physical, the flesh and blood sacrifice only which Jesus Christ offered once for the sins of the world.  Therefore, Jesus confirms His physical resurrection, not a spiritual resurrection, to His disciples in showing and presenting to them His flesh and bone, His physical body, in its resurrected and restored state.  Christ makes a specific distinction in His statement in Luke 24:39.  The distinction which is that He is not presenting and showing a resurrected Spirit to His followers.   But rather His resurrected tangible, physical body.  What the disciples saw and touched and thus what the scriptures write about is a physically resurrected and risen Lord Jesus, not a risen and resurrected Spirit of Jesus.   This specific and particular distinction in the words of Christ further prove a physical resurrection only and not a spiritual resurrection. Moreover, take particular note of verse 37;

37.  But they were terrified and affrighted, and
supposed that they had seen a spirit. -  Luke 24:37

Luke writes and testifies that the disciples had mistakenly thought that they were seeing the Spirit of Jesus in their midst.  But Jesus corrects the faulty thinking of His disciples by having encouraged them and challenged them to take hold of Him and understand and recognize that it wasnt His Spirit which stood before them.  But in truth it was His physical, tangible resurrected body which was with them.

So from the gospels of Luke and John the child of God is given verifiable witness to the physical resurrection only of Jesus Christ and not a spiritual resurrection.  Thereby further giving proof that the death which Jesus died for the sins of the world was a physical death only and not a spiritual death.  Nevertheless, the doctrine of JDS denies these clear and plain truths.
