Since January 1997, the Archives have been maintained in chronological order — by date posted.
Since the intent of the archive was simply to preserve the pictures that were originally scheduled to be replaced each week, this made sense. However, it makes it difficult to locate a specific picture. This index addresses that problem by grouping all pictures of the same artist together on one list. More artists (and other types of index, too) will be added as time permits. We've started with the artists whose photos have appeared most often:
