From Tribe.net blog: I talked to Pieter too last September in Holland and he was the one who stood by his severely wounded uncle, together with my father's best friend Herman vd Woude. Pieter told me that due to the heavy blood loss he was hallucinating and at a certain moment when he looked the other way for some reason and he looked back, my father was gone. He had jumped into the water. The story we had from Herman vd Woude was that he told him to say goodbye to his wife and children and take care of them.
