Here you can find all the info you need to travel around Antwerp at the cheapest rate. Just like anywhere else, there are people who get on without a ticket and drivers ussualy don't respond to that. But if you get caught by an inspector you get an instant fine which can be up to 250 .(about 250 $). So obviously it's not worth it. There is a regular schedule for their service from 06.00 in the morning untill about 23.30 hrs at night. During the weekend there are nightbusses. They leave once per hour from the main busstation on the "Roosevelt Plaats".

A single ticket costs 1 . It is valid for one trip within the Antwerp area & the towns that go under Great Antwerp. You can change lines with the same ticket if it's within the hour after having validated the ticket. Children up to 6 yrs travel for free.

If you are travelling with a group of 3 tot 9 people you can buy a multi - ticket. It works out cheaper.

Stadskaarten (City cards) are valid on all the bus and tram lines. You can't buy them from the driver, they only get sold in shops from "De Lijn", some banks, the trainstation and also in most bookshops. The price is starts from 7,5 .The card has 10 single trips on it and can be used by several people travelling at the same time. You just validate the card as many times as there is people going. Basicly it works the same as a single ticket.

If you are planning on using public transport for more then 3 times a day, it's better to buy a daypass. You can buy them of the driver and they are valid on all the bus and tram lines in Antwerp. Price for a daypass is 3 .

Tickets for the nightbus can only be bought from the driver and cost 60Bfr.

No matter which ticket you use, remember that when you change lines, you always have to re - validate the ticket.
