| I would not have gone this way myself. There's actually a barrier across the path that does not look inviting. However, there's a little white splotch dead center. Apparently the original bridge was vehicular and the replacement is not something they wanted anyone to try and drive across, particularly as the wheels would fit on either side, providing a significant lack of traction. Again, fortunately, the gentleman who gave me directions told me what to do on the other side. Follow the splotches. In the woods going up the hill in the other direction I would occasionally go 'off pieste', lose the trail. I would stop and look around, and maybe even back up until I found the white splotch somewhere ahead. So, after you cross the bridge, watch on the left was you follow the road. If you miss the splotch you'll probably wind up in someone's back acreage. If you make the proper turn you'll find yourself in another patch of forest. Think Blair Wood. Lot's of tall skinny trees. Depending on the time of year, more or less of the path will be visible. If it's fall and you're a good Indian tracker you'll notice how the leaves on the path have been crushed and ground into pieces. If you lose the path, the leaves will be crisp and whole, if it hasn't rained a lot. You're getting close! One more page to see the Quagmire...... |
