I walked a road that few had passed, Seeking truth, clarity, and enlightenment. I came across a woman fair. Rose petals of crimson and white adorned her hair. In all her brilliance, a fool be led. I saw a golden tear be shed. For but a moment, it took me back. The strength to speak, in truth, I lacked. I stretched my arm to chase away, the sprites and pixies that taunt this day. But with a smile, the tear be gone. The glance returned, was like a song. A song, simply placed within a smile, Could hold your heart for quite some while. Why I am not held by her is a mystery. My only hope is to let her see. See the way my soul is held. To stay with her, I dare not dwell. She is innocense, sweet and pure. I am misguided. I see no cure. "Am I worthy of love?" my heart does yell. My soul past tainted...I bid farewell. I have not been able to sit and make the last stanza match the ryme pattern in the previous stanzas but I may never change it. I like it this way. |
