Along with the Port Angeles Kiwanis
club, we co-sponsor the Port Angeles High School Key Club. We
involve ourselves in a number of ways. We make sure we have at least one of
our members in attendance at the weekly Key Club meeting. We
help financially when they need extra funds to send their
members to their annual district convention.
We also involve the Key Club members in a number of our
service and fund raising projects. In the past they have
helped us when we ran the March of Dimes Walk-a-thon for
healthy babies. They and other high school activity clubs
provided the "bodies" for staffing our Kiwanis
Kreepy Kavern haunted house. The majority of our profit from
this endeavor was divided between these groups.
Currently they co-ordinate our annual Tuna Drive for the
Port Angeles Food Bank at the high school level. We are also
proud that a number of them have become camp counselors at the
Northwest Kiwanis Camp for the mentally and physically
challenged.
We are proud to be associated with the Port Angeles High
School Key Club and hope that many of them remember their
Kiwanian experiences when it comes time to join service clubs
in their adult lives.
