Ship Songs
You might be wondering what exactly a ship song is. Well, "ship" is short for relationship (friendly and romantic), and "song" is short for, well, song. For some reason, I always associate music with books. I don't know why. Certain music just always makes me think of certain things in books. So I said, "Self, you should make a relationship songs section." So I did. Also, I know this says ship songs, but if you find one song that is really good for a certain character, that also works. Oh, I guess I should tell you that you can send in any songs (full title and artist) that remind you of a certain relationship or character, why they remind you of that character, and your name so I can give you credit for putting up the song. If there is no name after a song, it means that I thought it up.

Serena and Stanton
"Strong" by Velvet Chain
I don't know why, but this song has always reminded me of these two. I guess it's just the creepy tone of the whole thing, and Stanton is nothing if not creepy.

"Like a Prayer"  by Madonna
This song portrays Serena's weakness for Stanton.

"Temptation Waits" by Garbage
I like this song. It's very odd and some of the thoughts seem a little random, but it's a good song for S/S.

"How You Remind Me" by Nickelback
This song works perfectly for both of them. They're mortal enemies and they're constantly, if accidentally, reminding each other of it.

"Destiny" by Zero 7
Because they
are each other's destiny. :-)

"Downfall" by Matchbox Twenty
I chose this song because I have a feeling that Serena is Stanton's savior, but he's probably
her downfall.

"Bring Me to Life" by Evanescence
I think this song would be perfect for Serena and Stanton because she's the only thing that can make him feel alive. -
Thanks Tatianna!

"
Right Kind of Wrong" by LeeAnn Rhimes
They know they shouldn't be together yet they still are.
- Thanks Gerti!

"I'd Rather Be in Love" by Michelle Branch
In this one I think it's Serena thinking about how she wants to be in love with Stanton and is tired of having to hide it or deny it.
- Thanks Rowan!

"All You Wanted" by Michelle Branch
I think this one is Serena thinking about wanting to save Stanton and feeling sorry for him being pulled into the Atrox against his will.
- Thanks Rowan!

"A Case of You" by Joni Mitchell
This song reminds me mostly of my all time favorite ship of Sark and Sydney from the TV show
Alias. But I think that it's also a beautiful telling of the type of love Serena and Stanton have: doomed. In the end, their love will cause pain to many people no matter what they decide to. Yet should they just give up? "I'm frightened by the devil, and I'm drawn to those who ain't afraid" really sums it up for me.

Catty and Chri
s
"My Sacrifice" by Creed
Kind of perfect for Chris, actually. I know, way sappy, but I can't help putting this song on here. It just reminds me of Catty and Chris.

"Goodbye to You" by Michelle Branch
I guess any depressing lost love song works for them. They're a modern Greek tragedy. And considering Catty's a Greek goddess, it kind of works.

Jimena and Colli
n
"I Love You" by Sarah McLachlan
"I Love You" is a song about not being able to say I love you to the person you love. That was definately a problem for Jimena in the last book.

The Atro
x
"Transylvanian Concubine" by Rasputina
For some reason, whenever I think of the Followers, this song comes to mind. Probably because it's majorly weird and creepy. The Followers just scream vampires.

The Daughters

"Freakin' Friends" by Trent
This song is from a hilarious TV show called "Daria". I pity you if you have never had the pleasure of watching this show. Anyway, the title speaks for itself.

"Can't Fight the Moonlight" by LeAnn Rimes
Okay, I know this is beyond corny, and it's cracking me up right now, but doen't it kind of fit? And that's just the title, not the words.
