World Vision Adopt
A Child

After One Magic Night there is a possibility of
funds leftover from ticket sales. As stated on the Potter-Christ
Alliance website we want to show that Harry Potter can change the
world and not just in a fictional way.
The Following is from the
World Vision Official Website:
World
Vision helps transform the lives of the world’s poorest
children and families in nearly 100 countries, including the United
States. Our non-profit work extends assistance to all people,
regardless of their religious beliefs, gender, race, or ethnic
background.
Relationships are the starting point and the end goal of World
Vision’s work. Through relationships with community leaders, World
Vision’s staff help communities set goals that families can
achieve by working together. By our demonstration of God’s love
through our work, we hope that people will experience life in all
its fullness.
As a child sponsor, you are
connected with one special child who will know your name, write to
you and feel your tender love and prayers. Your child sponsorship
monthly pledge of $30 will provide a child with things such as:
Clean Water, Nutritious Food, Health Care, Educational
Opportunities, and Spiritual Nurture.
How Can One Magic Night Help?
Personally I do know people who sponsor children through World
Vision and they are a fabulous charity. With any leftover funds
generated from One Magic Night we will pick at random children from
various third world countries and during One Magic Night we will
allow the participants to pick the child that we will sponsor.
One interesting thing about World Vision is that you can find a
child that was born on a specific birth date. In Honor of JK Rowling
and of course Harry Potter we are going to pick children born on the
31st of July.
After One Magic Night we will keep everyone updated through our
myspace on the well-being of the child we selected. If the child we
picked speaks one of the various languages that Harry Potter has
been translated to we plan to send a box set of all seven Harry
Potter books in that child's language to them as a gift.
