In 1991 Omar Otáñez and Alvaro Ruíz started playing together when they were members of a metal band called "ScavengerBC", In 1995 Omar left "ScavengerBC" to continue with his studies, In 1997 Omar Otáñez and Alvaro Ruíz reunited to form the project "Otáñez & Ruíz". They started recording as a hobby whenever they had any free time. In December 1997 they recorded their first song (Cherry Boom), A year later they recorded two more songs (Climax and Copacabana Strings), In August 1999 the demo "Fahrenheit" was completed with the addition of two more songs (Intention and Eternal Nights). Finally the distribution of this demo began in the year 2000.
