Synopsis   (Text on videobox)
"Pia Zadora makes a sensational debut in this hot-blooded thriller of incest, murder and revenge. Blonde and irresistibly buxom, she plays the part of naughty Kady who surprises her long-lost father Jess (Stacey Keach) by turning up at the deserted silver mine where he works. Personal Comments

So OK, its not the best movie Ive ever seen, but is it really that bad as everybody says? Pia Zadora will never receive an Oscar, but Ive seen much worse. The Golden Globe scandal gave this film (and Pia) a lot of bad publicity. Would Pia be awarded with a Razzie, even be nominated, if she hadnt won the Golden Globe?
Its a true cult classic that went gold because of outstanding videocassette sales and it still sells well on eBay! I for one cant wait to have it on DVD.
Although "Butterfly" isn't really Pia's movie debut, the film launched her...well, hm...'acting'-carreer. It wasn't the acting that did it. All of a sudden there was this avalanche of press conferences, newspaper articles, photo sessions, etc... with Pia Zadora, just a few months before the film was released. For one month, Pia appeared on every billboard on Sunset Boulevard. Her presence in all the media was so blatant that one columnist wrote : "...Buy yourself a decent camera and you can be sure that Zadora will stop by".Pia was nominated for a Golden Globe, attended the Cannes Film Festival and appeared several times in the Mike Douglas show. The trick worked and Pia got her Golden Globe...
