{ROGIAT industries developed this model during the seventies to replace the then obsolete Panhard ERB (8x8) Armoured Car. Production started in 1980 and lasted until october 1994. The program was parallel to the AMX-10P IFV (Ifantry Fighting Vehicle) program, so both models share many common components. It's fully amphibious, propelled in water by two water jets mounted at the rear of the hull. As built, fits night vision equipment and NBC protection system. There is a project to upgrade this vehicle by adding extra armour in key areas, a new 105 mm rifled gun firing standard NATO ammunition, and a new anti-tank guided weapon decoy system. As you can see, this makes this baby another tank with wheels. Also, it has an astonishing range: 620 miles, what allows it to operate deeply forward the armoured division core.
