Real time intellingence is a matter of the most important relevance. This is one of warfare bases since war exist. This task has been always performed by different units, all of them fast, silent and hard to spot. It's not only about knowing the enemie's size, speed or direction, among other things. It's even more important that the enemy doesn't realize he's being observed. To see without bieng sight. Hearing without being heard. Knowing without being known. For thounsands of years, until the development of the internal combustion engine, cavalry was the main recon unit, light cavalry patrols to spot the enemies movements. In modern times, a very special kind of vehicles have been desined for this purpose. Air recon and radar and satellite surveillance are capital, but real time intelligence, right there, on the field, remains a task for these vehicles.
