SYNTAX

יתמיאמ- introduces a question followed by an answer

ינתקד- introduces a quote from an amorah

ביתכד- introduces a quote as a proof followed by comma and quotation marks

ינתק יכה- introduces an answer to an attacking question by restating a quote from the mishnah

אמיא תיעב יא- introduces a second answer

יכה יא- introduces an attacking question that attacks a previous line

EXPLINATION - MISHNAH

From when do we start reading the shema at night?

From the time the Kohanim enter the holy temple to eat their trumah

Until the end of the first watch says Rabbi Eliezer

The Chachamim say until dawn

Rabbi Gamliel says until the time of sunrise

There was a story about man whose sons returned to him from a party and told him, we haven't read the shema yet!?(Can we still read the shema) he said to them, if the time of sunrise has not occurred yet you are obligated to read it. And not only this but whenever the chachamim say midnight they really mean dawn (when the chachamim say that you can only say shema until midnight they really mean until dawn).

Fats and limbs that were burnt on the altar can be eaten until dawn. The remains of the sacrifice that should be eaten in one day can be fulfilled until dawn. If so (the chachamim saying midnight but really meaning dawn) why would the chachamim say midnight? In order to prevent someone from doing a sin (a sin would have occurred if the person pushed off the mitzvah thinking that he had a lot of time to do it and forgot) the chachamim wrote midnight but really meant dawn.

GEMORAH

          Two questions were asked:

            1) Why is there no background information about meimatie?

           Why does the Mishnah start with night and not day?

 The tanah started with night and then day because he was reading the pasuk of:

lie down and then get up, a light clicked in his head and he thought

of when you say shema when you lie down. When (is that)? The time

 the kohanim go to eat the sacrifice. If you want to say he was learning about

 the creation of the world which said,  it was evening, it was morning, is one day.

If so (night comes before day) we learn later on ( page אי)
