Shell: No dark blotch on the columella, the teeth are often longer
in the middle of the columella. Covered with cream-brown hieroglyhic or veriform
lines against a cream background, assuming the form of lines and sprinkled
dots. The dorsal line shows clearly, the side margins have bluish - brown
blotches, and the base is creamy fawn with brown teeth lines.
Animal: Dark grey black, siphon- black and fringed (fingerlike).
Region: Indo-Pacific, from east Africa to Tahiti & from Japan to
north Australia.
Habitat: Nocturnal, prefers shallow, well-aerated water under coral
slabs or stone on hard coral.
Notes: There are several shells in the arabica comlex. Supposedly
introduced to Hawaii with WWII.
