Shell:
Pink-brown/orange with four bands across dorsum, teeth- bright purple, columellar sulcus mottled and tinged with purple.
Animal:
Mottled with black and white splotches, mantle- thick, papillae- white, resemble human hands, foot- lighter grey-brown.
Region:
Indo-Pacific, Red Sea from east Africa to Cook islands and from Japan to Great Barrier Reef and the Lord Howe islands.
Habitat:
Nocturnal, shallow water, under coral slabs and stones on hard coral.
Notes:
Live animal secretes purple, staining liquid.
