The next day, the Mongolian army under Yelu Jin proceeds to march on to South Song. Disguising themselves as Mongolian soldiers are Yang Guo and Wu Shuang. They see that Li Mo Chou and Hong Ling Bo are still looking for them but with their disguise, they are unrecognizable.

Yelu Jin, who has come to admire Yang Guo, invites them both to dinner at his father's house in Long Qu Zhai town. He thinks that Wu Shuang is Yang Guo's wife to the girl's utter embarassment. Yang Guo does not bother to correct him and later suffers a little scolding from Wu Shuang when the Yelu family gives them only one room to share for the night.

While looking down the window of the Yelu Household,
Yang Guo notices someone lurking in the shadows. He hurries downstairs just in time to see the stranger attack the commander's older brother, Yelu Qi.

Yang Guo sees that Yelu Qi is very skilled in martial arts. He uses only one hand to defeat the stranger, who turns out to be a girl with a stunning resemblance to Xiao Long Nuu. Yelu Qi identifies her as Wanyan Ping, the girl who is bent on killing their father, the Mongol adviser Yelu Chu Chai.

     At the ensuing conversation,
Yang Guo learns that this is not apparently Wanyan Ping's first assassination attempt on the Mongol adviser.

(NOTE: The Yelus of Liao were nearly wiped out by the Wanyans of Jin. To avenge his family, Yelu Chu Chai became an adviser to the Mongol ruler, Genghis Khan and his son, Ogotai. The Mongols in turn burned down Jin and massacred all the aristrocrats, including the Wanyan clan. Now, the last of their descendants, Wanyan Ping has sworn to avenge her family by killing the old man.)
