Thirteen-year-old orphan, Yang Guo is accompanied by the legendary hero, Guo Jing to Zhong Nan Mountain where the famed Chong Yang Palace of All True Sect Kung Fu (Quan Zhen) stands. On their way through the steep mountain pass, Yang Guo asks Guo Jing about his father, Yang Kang, but the man merely tells him vaguely that he was a 'great fighter.'
Soon they come upon a strange stone by the side of the road with an inscription which seemed to have been written by someone's bare finger. Yang Guo chooses that inopportune moment to tell Guo Jing that if he does not disclose any more information about his father, he would refuse to learn to kung fu in Chong Yang Palace. Guo Jing loses his patience and slaps the stone angrily. Thereupon, six Taoists appear and suddenly attack them, accusing them of being perverts.
Though puzzled by their accusations, Guo Jing fights them off expertly and hurries over with Yang Guo to the temple in the hopes of clearing their names in front of his former teacher and one of the seven leaders of All True Sect, Qui Chu Ji. But they soon realize that trouble is brewing in Chong Yang Palace as several rough men, Mongolians by their bearings, battle fiercely with the Taoists.
A fat All True Sect disciple grabs Yang Guo but the resourceful boy manages to trick him and escapes. The rest of the Taoists pit their strengths against Guo Jing.
