Though skilled, Grandma Sun had never perfected her kung fu and thus, when Hao Zhen Ren deals her a severe blow, she falls down. Yang Guo then attacks the Taoists, biting and kicking them for what they did to his only friend. The Taoists retaliate in fury, beating him hard until finally, Xiao Long Nuu arrives and stops them with her cold insult, calling them shameless for attacking an old woman and a child.

It is the first time that any of them has seen her but they all recognize her immediately as the Ancient Tomb Sect heiress. They stand in awe of her beauty but soon her biting wit and cold manners hit their male prides, provoking them to attack her.

Long uses her silk belt as a weapon. Though young and inexperienced in real battle, Long manages to hold her own against the All True Sect disciples. As the battle progresses, Hao Zhen Ren is suddenly overcome with guilt and calls for a stop to the fighting but Long is bent on revenge.

She attacks the old Taoist with her silken belt, forcing him to use his sword to defend himself. Both are highly skilled fighters but Long's techniques are quite new for the old man so that he is unable to predict her movements.
Xiao Long Nuu is wearing a pair of strange white silken gloves which seem so powerful that she is able to break the Taoist master's sword into two halves. Finally, Hao accepts his defeat and bows to the pale-skinned girl.

Long then uses her lightness kung fu to pick up Yang Guo and Grandma Sun. The lightness kung fu of Ancient Tomb Sect is unparallelled and it seems that Long is flying in midair as she makes her way back to the tomb. Before she died, the old maid manages to extract from her young mistress a promise that she would take care of Yang Guo for as long as she would live.

     Being cold and emotionless,
Long does not think about this much but does remember that it is Grandma Sun who has taken care of her all her life. She agrees and makes the oath to the old lady. Since she is now responsible for Yang Guo, she decides to teach him the kung fu of Ancient Tomb.
