| Yang Guo decides to search for Xiao Long Nuu (Dragon Girl) at a nearby village. He asks people along the way if they have seen a beautiful girl dressed in white but his search yields no result until he enters an inn and asks the bartender the same question. The bartender seems to know something and says that he has seen a girl with that description enter the inn. He remembers her for she was very beautiful and had a temper to match. She got into a fight with some Taoists and had cut off the ear of one. He heard later that the Taoists had commissioned the help of some Beggar Sect drifters to ambush the girl in Jackal Valley. After hearing this, Yang Guo hurries out of the inn and steals a bull, spurring it on to the valley. When he reaches the place, he hides behind a boulder and watches the five ambushers talking among themselves as they wait for their victim. At last, the girl appears riding a donkey but Yang Guo is disappointed to find that she is not his Gugu. Nevertheless, he decides to stay and watch the scene from his hiding place. The ambushers block the girl's path and order her to get down and fight them. Undaunted, the girl draws her sword, urging her donkey to a gallop to disperse her attackers. But the men know a proper counter-measure as they wield their swords in the air. The light from their blades make the donkey panic and throw its rider from its back. Even without her mount, the girl remains unyielding and moves into a stance that unmistakably belongs to Ancient Tomb Sect Kung Fu (Gumu Bai). His interest renewed, Yang Guo watches as the girl tries to hold her ground but their number puts her into a disadvantage. It is then that Yang Guo decides to help her. He lets the bull race at full speed towards the fighters while he hides underneath its belly, throwing tiny pebbles at the ambushers.
