The TM UZI is the only AEG with a grip safety that works similar to most 1911 acp-type of grips.
The battery cover requires only sliding backward a lock located at the end of the 1pc top cover. It may be re-designed to exclude the connectors for a quick batt change.

UPGRADES
FPS upgrade is hardly recommended. The rof can be improved though although it needs bringing several hicaps as each contain 220rds only.
The front and back ends of the battery compartment maybe redesigned to add another 600mah cell. The stopper at the backend is abs and can be dremeled to gain 1cm or more. |

The most I'd do probably is redesign the compartment to eliminate the connector and allow a quick change of the battery. A spring maybe placed at the back end and a contact plate placed in front where the battery poles could securely be in contact.
I'm afraid, increasing the rof may compromise also the gears. |

Although the abs handguard maybe replaced by a steel RIS for accessories, there's hardly any space underneath.
The left-right covers are molded almost to the shape of what's beneath the handguard.
The fuse assembly maybe removed but the gained space may not be enough for whatever is desired.
